Soho Estates, in partnership with Whitbread, converted the office space on the upper floors of Queen's House into an 89-bedroom Premier Inn hotel. The hotel was carefully integrated within the existing envelope of the building. Apart from some cosmetic restoration works, the attractive 19th-century façade remained largely untouched.
The historic property, which was built in 1897, is of Portland stone and has an elaborately ornamented French Renaissance exterior. It is located on the north side of Leicester Square, on the corner of Leicester Place next to the Empire Cinema. The property is currently home to a number of operators, including a casino, a restaurant, and a nightclub.
