The Soho Revue is a new space for under-represented artists in the heart of Soho. It is the regeneration of a 17th Century Listed Building to create a new Art Gallery and Art Studio. Conceived by women, owned by women, curated by women, for art by women and other under-represented groups...though for most of its previous life it was a social club – for men.
Our design provides an adaptable floorplan for the long term and substantially upgrades the thermal performance of the building envelope while also converting it to all-electric use. Details include the repair and exposure of original 17th-century internal brickwork, with the various mortars between the bricks (lime, ash, cement, then lime again) revealing the story of the building over its lifetime - alongside the beautiful restoration of original plaster architraves.
The Grade II Listed building at 14 Greek Street was retained and fully restored. Full planning and listed building consents were achieved in August 2016, and on-site works, including demolition, piling, and excavation.
